to Provide a “Community Nutrition Program”
for Three Hong Kong Schools
Hong Kong, March 4, 2015 — Herbalife, a global nutrition company, through the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), partners with Po Leung Kuk, a Hong Kong Charity organization, to provide healthy breakfast and nutrition education to school children in need through a “Community Nutrition Program”. HFF initiated the school program in 2014, which helped fund three primary schools in Hong Kong namely, 嗇色園主辦可信學校 Ho Shun Primary School (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen), 秀明小學 Sau Ming Primary School, and 石湖墟公立學校 Shek Wu Hui Public School. The nutrition program, which is benefiting about 1,000 students a year, revolves around enabling the schools to provide nutritious breakfast as well as to provide proper platforms for nutrition education and healthy lifestyle practices. Herbalife will continue the program in 2015 academic year to benefit more children in need.
Mr. Steven Sze, general manager Herbalife Hong Kong, says, “We want to send out a strong message that our commitment towards nutrition isn’t just limited to our customers. We want children to also understand the importance of good nutrition and be able to enjoy good nutrition which is vital for their development. Keeping this in mind, we knew that providing children in need with proper, nutritious food will go a long way in promoting healthy growth and development. We are glad to be able to participate in such a purposeful act of giving, which is an integral part of our corporate social responsibility.”
Mrs Bridget Yu, Principal Social Services Secretary (Family, Child Care, Children and Youth) of Po Leung Kuk, said, “Po Leung Kuk places a strong emphasis on nurturing children. We are thankful to have Herbalife supporting us in the past nine years. With the dedicated efforts of our Children and Youth Services, the Community Nutrition Program will enable unprivileged children to enjoy nutritious food and also understand the importance of it.
